LLBWS - Japan Punches Ticket To International Championship

Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound on Thursday, but Japan was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Caribbean on Thursday. John Lopez started the game for Caribbean and recorded 18 outs.

A single by Luis A. Rivera in the first inning was a positive for Caribbean.

Masato Igarashi led the Japan to victory on the hill. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out five and walking one. Shisei Fujimoto threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Shisei recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Japan.


John took the loss for Caribbean. He surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Luis A., Angel Vazquez, and Eric Rodriguez each managed one hit to lead Caribbean.

Japan didn’t commit a single error in the field. Masaumi Ikeuchi had the most chances in the field with nine.
