Mexico Region to Face Japan Region in International Championship Game

Mexico took the lead late in the game in a 6-2 victory over Canada on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Mexico batting in the bottom of the fourth when.

Mexico took an early lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Reid Hefflick scored one run for Mexico.


Mexico took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning.

Mexico scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Jorge Garcia and a home run by Jorge Lambarria.


Andre Garza earned the win for Mexico. He pitched four innings, surrendering two runs, three hits, and striking out seven. Samuel Juarez recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Mexico. Reid took the loss for Canada. He went three and a third innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, and striking out five.

Home runs for Mexico came when Jorge homered in the fifth inning and Jorge homered in the fifth inning.

Mexico had nine hits in the game. Carlos Garcia and Jorge each collected multiple hits for Mexico. Jorge and Carlos all had two hits to lead Mexico.
