2017 Little League® PLAY BALL Day on Sunday June 4

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.  – On Sunday, June 4, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Little League® International, in cooperation with Major League Baseball's “PLAY BALL Weekend,” will hold a free event for families at the Little League International Complex, with opportunities for children to have fun and play on the Little League Baseball® World Series stadium fields.

As part of Major League Baseball's PLAY BALL Weekend, Little League will host its special PLAY BALL Day. Children ages 5 to 12 will be able to participate in special skill-developing activities on Howard J. Lamade Stadium, organized by Baseball Factory, the Official Player Development Partner of Little League Baseball and Softball, and Little League International staff. A series of other baseball and softball-related games and fun activities will be available for children of all ages, the World of Little League® Museum will be open, the Gift Shop will have a special sidewalk sale, and concessions will be available.

The event is open to everyone, and all participants must be registered. Check in for the event will be at the concession stand, beginning at 11:30 a.m., with on-field activities starting at 1 p.m. for children 5 to 8 years old, and 3 p.m. for children 9 to 12 years old. Fun activities, such as backyard baseball and softball games and playing catch, will be open to children of all ages throughout the day. PLAY BALL Weekend is a special celebration, by Major League Baseball and all 30 MLB Clubs, of the “PLAY BALL” initiative, which was launched by MLB and USA Baseball in 2015 as an effort to encourage youth participation in both formal and casual baseball and softball activities.
