Tennessee Wins Little League Baseball®l Southeast Regional Championship

An outstanding effort by Ethan Jackson carried Tennessee (Goodlettsville Baseball LL) to a 15-3 win in four innings over Georgia (Peachtree City American LL) on Wednesday at Southeast Park.

Jackson went 2-for-2 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored while hitting a home run in each the third and fourth innings.


Nine runs in the first three innings helped Goodlettsville Baseball LL to its victory over Peachtree City American LL, giving Tennessee the Southeast Region title. Goodlettsville Baseball LL got on the board early with five runs in the first inning thanks to a two-run double by Robert Carroll, a two-run single by Jon Luke Simmons, and an RBI single by Ryan Oden.

Goodlettsville Baseball LL picked up three home runs in the win as Tanner Jones hit one deep in the fourth inning and Jackson homered in each the third and fourth innings.

Javon Compton lasted two-thirds of an inning on the mound for Peachtree City American LL before being removed, allowing four hits and five runs.

Goodlettsville Baseball LL scored four more runs in the third with the help of a solo home run by Jackson, a two-run double by Jones, and an RBI single by Tyler Jones.

With the win, Goodlettsville Baseball LL will earn a trip to Williamsport as the representative of the Southeast Region where it will take on the winner of the Northwest Region in Game Four of the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
