Led behind a shutout performance by Victor Lizarraga, Park View Little League of Southern California took home a 1-0 victory over Mountain Ridge Little League of Nevada, earning the crown of Little League Baseball® West Regional Champions and a spot in the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series.

Lizarraga got the win for Southern California after recording 13 strikeouts, giving up just one hit over six shutout innings.

Despite the loss, Chase Ditmar was able to pitch five full innings for Mountain Ridge Little League, giving up no walks while striking out five and allowing only one run. Park View LL scored the only run of the game on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning.

This will mark the second time that Park View Little League will head to South Williamsport after a championship performance in 2009. Dating back to 1951, this will also mark the 47th time in league history that California will be represented in the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series.

Representing the West Region, Park View Little League will open the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series on Friday, Aug. 19, against Midwest Region Champions, Johnston Little League (Iowa), at 4 p.m. inside Howard J. Lamade Stadium.
