South Williamsport, PA - An 11-run explosion in the third inning hoisted West to a 14-2 win in four innings over Great Lakes at Lamade Stadium on Friday.

West scored in the third on a solo home run by Antonio Andrade, a solo home run by Nate Nankil, a home run by Nick Maldonado, a three-run home run by Levi Mendez, and a two-run home run by Walker Lannom.

West hit six home runs in the win. Additional home runs for West came when Dante Schmid homered in the second inning.

Lannom racked up two RBIs on three hits for West.

West got the win thanks in large part to Schmid's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Schmid allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks over 3 1/3 innings.

West easily handled Great Lakes pitching as six hitters combined for 10 hits, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

Eli Burwash ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
