South Williamsport, PA - New England built an early lead against Midwest, scoring five runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-3 win on Saturday at Lamade Stadium.

New England scored in the first on a walk by Dylan Demers, a two-run single by Jason Patalano, an RBI single by Jake Bender, and an RBI single by Tommy Harper.

Devrin Weathers had two extra-base hits for Midwest. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Cole Gayman had an impressive outing against New England's lineup. Gayman gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Cam Adamec got the win for New England. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. Adamec struck out four, walked three and gave up one hit.

Cale McCallister couldn't get it done on the bump for Midwest, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.

One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Midwest close its deficit to 6-3. A solo home run by McCallister triggered Midwest's comeback. But, Nick Mason got Gayman to to end the inning.
