South Williamsport, PA - An exceptional effort by Luis Castillo carried Latin America to a 7-0 win in six innings over Europe-Africa on Sunday at Volunteer Stadium.

Castillo struck out 14 hitters en route to the Latin America win. Latin America's pitcher tossed six innings of shutout ball and allowed only one hit.

Latin America's bats came to life in the first inning. Latin America's bats caught fire leading to four runs.

Latin America was sparked by Castillo and Joel Flores, who teamed up for three hits and six RBIs.

Joshua Olara ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.

Latin America built upon its lead with three runs in the fifth. Jeferson Quero kicked things off with a double, plating Adrian Sandoval. That was followed up by Castillo's two-run blast, scoring Quero.This article posted with permission of Little League Baseball®.
