Blake Cavill went 2-3 and hit a home run, helping Australia to a 3-0 victory over Caribbean on Saturday at Volunteer Stadium. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Caribbean's lineup had no answer for Jake Burns. Caribbean managed just one hit off of Burns, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out eight during his 4 1/3 innings of work.

Despite the loss, Caribbean's Idelfonso Puello dominated Australia's batters, giving up two runs and striking out 10.

Emmanuel Rodriguez was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed one run.

Australia closer Luke Krkovski put away the final five outs to record the save.

The game's last lead went to Australia thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI single by Cavill.

Australia tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A solo blast by Burns ignited the offense,. That was followed up by Cavill's solo home run.
