West hands Midwest a 12-2 loss on opening day of the 2014 LLWS

South Williamsport, PA - West beat Midwest on Thursday 12-2 at Lamade in five innings.
West scored four runs in the fifth on a walk by Zach Hare, an RBI single by Austin Kryszczuk, a hit by pitch, and a wild pitch.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

West finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. A fielder's choice scored Kryszczuk and Justin Hausner and gave West the lead for good.
West's Hare was perfect at the dish, going 2-2.
Josh Zuehlsdorff was in control on the rubber. Midwest managed just one hit off of the West's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Kryszczuk got the win for West. He allowed two runs over 2 2/3 innings. Kryszczuk struck out six, walked two and gave up three hits.
Colton Hartford lasted two innings on the hill for Midwest before being taken out. Hartford allowed four hits and four runs.
West didn't give up the lead after the third inning. Additional runs came from a solo home run by Hare.
West brought home four runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, West scored on a two-run double by Brennan Holligan, bringing home Hare and Kryszczuk.
