Williamsport, PA – Governor Tom Corbett visited the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, PA to cheer for Philadelphia-based Taney Little League as they played their first game in the 2014 World Series.

Governor Meets the Coach
“The Little League World Series is a very special version of America’s national pastime held right here in Pennsylvania,” said Gov. Corbett. “I wish Philadelphia’s Taney team the best of luck as they celebrate their first berth to the Little League World Series. As visitors from around the world enjoy the games, I encourage everyone to explore downtown Williamsport and enjoy all that this great region has to offer.”

Prior to Friday’s game, the governor met the players and coaches of the Taney team, and asked the players to autograph a Taney Little League t-shirt to be displayed in the governor’s office throughout the tournament. After winning the Mid-Atlantic Region Championship last week, this is the Taney Little League’s first appearance at Little League Baseball World Series.
