Caribbean's first-inning rally sparks 16-3 win

South Williamsport, PA - A 13-run explosion in the first inning led Caribbean to a 16-3 win in four innings over Australia at Volunteer on Thursday.
Caribbean scored in the first on a walk by Emanuel Alicea, a hit by pitch, a home run by Abimael Torres, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Edward González, an RBI single by Yadiel Santana, a two-run double by Adrian Colón, an RBI single by Jeremy Colón, and an RBI double by Joel Santos.

Oscar López racked up three RBIs on one hit for Caribbean. He homered in the third inning.
Santos brought the heat against Australia during his outing. Australia managed just one hit off of the Caribbean's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his two innings of work.
Caribbean easily handled Australia pitching as six hitters combined for eight hits, 12 RBIs and seven runs scored.
Nicholas Riley lasted zero innings on the bump for Australia before being removed. Riley allowed no hits and four runs.
