Seoul, South Korea wins International Championship
South Williamsport, PA - Asia-Pacific jumped out to an early lead on Japan and captured a 12-3 victory on Saturday at Lamade.
With seven runs in the first three innings, Asia-Pacific left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
A two-run double by Hae Chan Choi, a fielder's choice, a hit by pitch, and a three-run double by Dong Wan Sin during the second inning helped Asia-Pacific put some runs on the board early. Sin racked up three RBIs on two hits for Asia-Pacific.
Japan couldn't get anything going as long as Jae Yeong Hwang was pitching. Hwang held Japan hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.
Joichiro Fujimatsu lasted 1 1/3 innings on the mound for Japan before the call to the bullpen. Fujimatsu gave up two hits and six runs
