2014 LLWS - Latin America cuts down Caribbean in elimination game

South Williamsport, PA - Julio Rejon went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking Latin America to a 2-1 victory in six innings over Caribbean on Monday at Volunteer.
He homered in the first inning. Ronny Medina kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine Caribbean batters. Medina allowed no earned runs, two hits and two walks over five innings.

Latin America couldn't get anything going as long as Edward González was on the mound. Latin America managed just one hit off of González, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Joel Santos took the loss for Caribbean. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out seven, and allowed two runs.
Latin America jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A solo home run by Rejon started the inning off.
Caribbean scored its only run of the game on a passed ball in the first inning.
Latin America stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on.
