Little League® and New Era Cap Agree to Four-Year Extension

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (December 20, 2018) – Little League® International and New Era Cap Co Inc., the official on-field cap of the Little League World Series, have agreed to a four-year extension as an official sponsor of Little League Baseball and Softball. The extension will be effective through 2022.

Long-standing partner, New Era Cap, will continue to provide support to Little League® Baseball and Softball as the Official On-Field Cap of the Little League World Series.

“For nearly three decades, New Era Cap has been a tremendous supporter of the Little League Baseball and Softball program and has gone above and beyond to make the Little League experience special for millions of kids around the world,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “From providing the official on-field caps and visors to our players at each of our World Series events, to all of the activations and efforts they provide to our millions of fans each year, New Era Cap has shown how important it is to support this program. 90+ Volunteer Umpires Earn Prestigious 2019 Little League® World Series Assignments

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (January 16, 2019) – Each year, the holiday season becomes just a bit more special for more than 90 dedicated Little League® volunteers who receive their official notifications with their official umpire assignments for the Little League World Series tournaments.

Volunteer umpires are one of the most important aspects in the success of Little League programs around the world and in the Little League International Tournament. As a way to continually develop these volunteer umpires throughout the year, Little League International offers a variety of digital training and educational resources available on LittleLeague.org/Umpires, a bi-monthly Fair Ball Newsletter, access to the Little League Umpire Registry, and formal training through Umpire Clinics and Schools around the nation.

World of Little League® Museum and Official Store to Host Art Event on Sunday, March 10

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (February 13, 2019) – On Sunday, March 10, from 2 to 5 p.m., the World of Little League® Museum and Official Store will be hosting another memorable Art at the Museum Event, offering participants a chance to join local artist and owner of Wistart Studio in Hughesville, Amanda M. Emig, to paint an iconic piece of art.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming Amanda back to our Museum for this exciting event, and encourage anyone who is interested in this event, regardless of skill level, to sign up and take part of this memorable experience,” said Lance Van Auken, Little League® Vice President and Executive Director of the Museum. “Our previous Art at the Museum event provided our visitors with educational instruction and a memorable experience that they can share with their friends and family in a unique environment. We can’t wait to see everyone out at the Museum on March 10 for another exciting event.”

2019 Little League Challenger Division® Jamborees to Provide Unique Opportunities to Children Across North America

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (February 14, 2019) – This year, hundreds of Little Leaguers® with physical and intellectual challenges will receive a unique opportunity to participate in a Little League Challenger Division® Jamboree, a volunteer-hosted event that provides players the experience of a tournament atmosphere.

“Each year, our dedicated volunteers work hard to provide members of our Challenger Division with the unique opportunity to experience the thrill of a Little League tournament while joining together with other members of the community to host an event filled with fun, socialization, and unique memories,” said Sam Ranck, Little League Director of the Challenger Division. “Our Jamboree events provide lifelong memories to not only the participants, but to all of the volunteers who help make the event so special. We are thankful for all the dedication and support that goes into these Jamborees, and hope all of our participants enjoy their time on and off the field this year.”

New Tournament Tiebreaker Structure and Roster Guidelines Highlight 2019 Little League®Rule Changes

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Following the annual fall meeting of the Little League® International Board of Directors, Little League International officially announced the rule and regulation changes that will take effect in 2019. The two most notable changes will take place in the International Tournament with a new tiebreaker structure in all divisions, as well as a regulation establishing the number of adults in the dugout or on the field play when a tournament team has 11 or fewer eligible players.

Congratulations to Montoursville-Native and Little League International Board of Directors Member, Mike Mussina, on Election to National Baseball Hall of Fame

Legendary Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher and Montoursville, Pa., native Mike Mussina will earn his iconic bronze plaque this summer as he has officially been named a member of the 2019 National Baseball Hall of Fame Class by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. A dedicated Little League® volunteer and Little League International Board of Directors member, Mr. Mussina will join fellow inductees and former Little Leaguers, Roy Halladay, Edgar Martinez, and Mariano Rivera, as well as Today’s Game Era ballot winners, Harold Baines and Lee Smith, in this year’s induction.
